Ground-breaking product development in water-cooled charge air cooling led to a performance-, design-, and environmental boost for our entire customer product portfolio.
One of Europe's leading car engine manufacturers contacted Nissens OEM because the manufacturer needed a business partner to help develop an entirely new cooler solution. The solution was meant to improve both design and performance of marine motors. In order to obtain this, it was necessary to develop a solution which could dramatically improve cooling efficiency from 60-70% to 98%.
A new solution was developed on the basis of the water-cooled charge air cooler, and after development and testing of the cooler, both at Nissens OEM's test facilities and in the customer's own application, the result was an entirely new generation of water-cooled charge air coolers. This made it possible for the customer to obtain the desired effect from the cooler while implementing the desired design changes.
It soon became obvious that the concept could easily be applied to motors in industrial and mobile applications, and therefore Nissens OEM also developed coolers for these applications in co-operation with the customer. The customer obtained not only enhanced performance, but also design and environmental improvements for the entire product range.
