ROLE & OPERATION

 

The refrigerant is compressed by the compressor and transported through the system to create high and low pressure.
 

The compressor is crucial for the efficiency of the AC system. During an AC cycle, the compressor enables the refrigerant to change its state from gas to liquid and to flow through the different components of the system as well as through high and low pressure sides.

DESIGN

 

HV AC compressors are compact, powerful electric devices designed to compress and circulate refrigerant efficiently in the AC or heat pump loop. They are designed with a focus on independence, reliability and energy efficiency.

The automotive applications employ scroll-based technology powered by a 3-phase, brushless electric motor operating on high voltage currents above 200V capable of high torque operation. The refrigerant is compressed by the rotation of a set of spirals. Furthermore, an integrated power inverter module (PIM), consisting of hardware and software electronics, drives and controls the operation of the electric compressor motor.
