ROLE

The AC hoses enable the refrigerant to circulate within the circuit, connecting the system components in a sealed loop to ensure optimal cooling performance and system reliability.

There are three types of hoses:

High-Pressure AC Hose
Low-Pressure AC Hose
High/Low Pressure AC Hose

Additionally, hoses play an essential role in the following:

Diagnostics and maintenance of the loop connections
Pressure sensors' location

IMPORTANT TO KNOW

After a compressor failure, AC Hoses should be considered as part of the replacement due to the:

Hose Assemblies with an in-line filter or muffler cannot be flushed and must be replaced;
Hoses should be inspected internally and externally for cracks, barrier softness, and loose or embedded
particles;
Over time, loss of elasticity may cause small leaks at the hose crimp, resulting in a low refrigerant charge, starving the compressor of lubrication, leading to compressor failure.
